Rocky Mountain National Park is closing due to the East Troublesome Fire west of the park, which exploded in size overnight and entered the park from the southwest. Incident types are numbered 1-5 — a type 1 incident is a large, complex wildfire affecting people and critical infrastructure, a type 5 incident is a small wildfire with few personnel involved. It’s also home to the Grand Lake Yacht Club, which traces its history back to 1902 and claims its elevation (8,366 feet) makes it the world’s highest yacht club.
